International Technological University is seeking applications for the position of Systems/Network Administrator & Administrative Assistant.
Skills / Job Responsibilities:
This is a part time position (30 hour work week) with a starting pay of $12/hr.
- BA/BS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of Windows NT / 2000 server experience with LAN administration
- Minimum of 5 years experience with Unix/Linux (Slackware)
- Minimum 3 yrs experience with MAC OS
- Experience with setting up the network infrastructure for e-learning
- Excellent understanding of server and desktop hardware and software support in a Windows / Linux environments
- Experience setting up and administering routers / firewall / switches / wireless access points
- Experience working with and administering Apache / IIS web server
- Experience with troubleshooting MS Office 2000
- Experience with performing backups and restores
- Experience with installing, configuring and managing anti-virus and management software
Experience with several of the following technologies is required:
- Solaris
- Sendmail
- Filemaker Pro
- HTML
- Apache web server administration
- Scripting (shell/PERL/PHP/bash)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, NIS, Samba, domain administration
- Experience maintaining computer labs
- Maintaining an inventory of all hardware, software and office equipment using Filemaker Pro
- Maintaining workstations, including defrag, Windows and virus updates
- Recommending hardware/software upgrades and changes
- Ordering and installing new computers and software
- Ensuring that all procedures are compliant with software copyrights.
- Security monitoring and routine audit of servers/firewalls (Linux)
- Experience with MySQL database administration
- Experience with performing administrative duties such as doing research, faxing, photocopying, data entry, posting outgoing mail, distributing incoming mail, answering phones, responding to ITU emails, assisting in organizing ITU events and student recruiting.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator, Macromedia Flash
- Microsoft MCSE and/or Unix/Linux Certifications and/or CCNA preferred
- Project Mgmt: Takes initiative and can handle tasks with little supervision
- Interpersonal Skills: open-minded, easy to get along with; excellent verbal/written skills; excellent customer service
- Work Habits: well organized, flexible, takes initiative to find better ways of doing things, keen ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Sharp problem-solving abilities and be detail-oriented.
